Zanim nauka wytłumaczyła, w jaki sposób człowiek pojawił się na ziemi, powstanie świata tłumaczyły lokalne wierzenia i legendy. W wietnamskiej legendzie to 100 synów Ojca Smoka i Matki Ptaka dało początek ludzkości i narodowi wietnamskiemu. Co po nich zostało we współczesnym Wietnamie? Co zostało z waleczności i hartu ducha Smoka? Co z uroku, pracowitości i mądrości Matki Ptaka? Myślę, że można ich odnaleźć w skomplikowanej historii tego kraju, ale najwięcej jest ich w miejscach i przedmiotach, które ich potomkowie tworzyli. Przedstawiony cykl zdjęć jest częścią większego materiału z sześciotygodniowej podróży po Wietnamie w latach 2014 oraz 2016.

What will remain after we leave this world? Do parents consider their offspring a substantial proof of their existence? Before science managed to substantiate how human being appeared on Earth, the creation of the world was explained by local beliefs and legends. According to a Vietnamese legend, 100 sons of Lạc Long Quân and Âu Cơ made a beginning to the humanity and to the Vietnamese nation. What is left after them in contemporary Vietnam? What is left after the bravery and pluckiness of Lạc Long Quân? And what remains after the charm, diligence and wisdom of Âu Cơ? I believe we can find them in the complicated history of this country, but they prevail in the places and objects which were created by their descendants. These series of photographs is part of a greater material from my six-week trip through Vietnam in 2014 and 2016.
