Still life

Bromolej to proces łączący fotografię, malarstwo i grafikę. Był używany na przełomie XX wieku. Punktem wyjściowym jest fotografia czarno-biała, którą po wywołaniu odbiela się, utrwala, a następnie ręcznie, za pomocą pędzla lub wałka, wtłacza gęsty tusz litograficzny. Technika bromolejowa daje artyście możliwość bardzo precyzyjnego budowania obrazu, dzięki pełnej kontroli procesu nakładania kolejnych warstw tuszu. Prace wykonane w tej technice są unikalne i wyjątkowe.  Osobiście jestem zafascynowana techniką bromoleju, możliwościami, jak i fizycznym doświadczeniem tworzenia zdjęcia.

The bromoil process is a process which mixes photography, painting, and graphic arts. It was used at the turn of the19th and the 20th century. The starting point for this process is the black and white photograph which, after processing, is bleached. Then it undergoes further processing and, finally, the thick lithographic ink is inked with a brush or roller. This technique creates an opportunity for an artists to build a picture very precisely, thanks to full control over the process of implementing subsequent layers of the ink. Bromoils are very unique and exceptional.  Personally, I am fascinated with this technique and the possibilities it creates, as well as the physical experience of creating a photograph.
